The Office of Community Schools (OCS) offers many exciting learning and networking opportunities for community school directors (CSDs), CBO supervisors, principals, and other community school staff.

Types of Capacity-Building Events

Listening Circles

Audience: CSDs, principals, other community school staff
Frequency: Twice a year

Listening Circles are hour-long events that provide the space for participants to share their thoughts, experiences, and needs. These events help inform the topics for the OCS Professional Learning Community series and other capacity-building events

Principal & CSD Convenings

Audience: Principals, CSDs
Frequency: Twice a year

The Principal & CSD Convenings are unique spaces that bring together principals and CSDs across school districts and communities twice a year. Through diverse workshop offerings, participants engage in the exploration of exemplary community school practices and strategies. These events also offer an opportunity to share and gather insights and gain inspiration from other like-minded leaders committed to advancing equity at their schools.

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Audience: CSDs
Frequency: Five sessions, once a month

Professional Learning Communities offer CSDs an opportunity to engage with each other in sessions centered around practical skills-building and tool-sharing to increase impact at their community schools.

CBO Leadership Convenings

Audience: CBO supervisors and other members of lead CBO leadership
Frequency: Quarterly

CBO Leadership Convenings provide a space for CBO supervisors of CSDs and other CBO leadership members to come together and network, share promising practices, and learn of high-level updates from the Office of Community Schools.

The Office of Community Schools invites you to submit a proposal to present at one of our convenings for community school directors, principals and/or CBO supervisors. Our goal is to connect our various interested parties to talented education and social services experts for information sharing through workshops that create collective empowerment for change and positive impact.
